treat yourself to a lovely lunch

when jeff and i were planning our trip to san francisco for thanksgiving, i immediately started searching restaurants.  whenever i travel to another city, i always do my research to feed my little foodie cravings.  whether it's a hole in the wall that serves the best ice cream in the city (always on my list), or an established restaurant like chez panisse, i find it to be one of the best parts of traveling.

for those of you not familiar with this long-standing gem in berkeley, i simply cannot recommend it enough.  it is owned by renowned chef alice waters and is simply d-e-l-i-s-h.  we made reservations for the cafe (more moderately priced) and had a lovely, and very leisurely lunch.  that started me thinking about how i don't do that enough.  rather than getting together with friends on a friday night, why not go out for a luxurious lunch and order a couple bottles of wine?
