i have a huge sweet tooth and if there's anything that has chocolate in it, i'm eating it. i read a post from a cup of jo last week about this amazing bakery/cafe in santa monica that she claims had delicious chocolate chip cookies. that is about all it took for my friend leah and i to make a tiny road trip to santa monica.
fast forward to us standing in front of the gorgeous marble counter full of exquisite sweets. leah and i took one look at each other and knew we weren't leaving with just one cookie. so i ordered one for myself and two to go, plus a pretzel bread croissant. i couldn't return home without bringing one for jeff (and another for me later). i mean what kind of wife would i be, right?
as soon as i bit into this little dish of heaven, i felt the subtle crunch of the rich, dark chocolate chunks layered throughout. it was crisp, with just the right amount of doughiness to bring it to the perfect balance. the best thing about this baby was that it wasn't overly sweet. in fact it had a nice salty taste that met your taste buds in the best way.
so if you are in the neighborhood (or up for a drive) i strongly recommend stopping by to feed your sweet tooth.
