carrie came over with her pie tins and once granny showed us how it was done, we ended up making jeff his belated birthday pumpkin pie (i know february seems like an odd time for pumpkin, but it was the birthday boy's request so how could i not make it, right?)
the crust was buttery and flaky, just like it's supposed to be.
while we were busy in the kitchen, emma & addie had a play date with my very persistent neighbor.
besides decorating our sidewalk, they had a wedding and conned nena and jeff into going out to buy them cupcakes for the reception.
after giving bayou a little love, it was time to make the whip cream - and of course do a taste test to make sure it tasted just right!
result? pumpkin pie was a success!
